Today, I did something cool. Actually, three cool things in one.
I hung out with a new friend—not completely new, we’d talked online and met once or twice—but this was the first real hangout. And we went to… wait for it… a beekeeping demo.
Yeah. Me. Bees. Face to face. No stingers. No panic. Just me, honey, and hella curiosity.
We learned so much. I tried honey from Ghana—less sweet, more earthy. Eucalyptus honey? 10/10. That one’s usually from Australia. And apparently, there are bees in Nepal that make psychedelic honey from the nectar of rhododendron flowers. Like, what? Nature is out here getting trippy.
The coolest part? I held the little wooden frame they keep the bees in. I got so close to them. And I didn’t freak out. Not once. Which, if you know me… is wild. I’ve been scared of bees forever.
So yeah. New friend. New experience. Old fear? Officially humbled. Might become a beekeeper now. Who knows.
This is what becoming is about. Doing something new, leaning into your curiosity, and letting the unexpected surprise you.
I encourage you to try something new. You never know what kind of honey—and healing—you’ll find.
