excitement in uncertainty

Hey guys

There’s something about this time of year that feels like both a beginning and a memory. The air shifts, the light softens, and suddenly I’m reminded of moments I thought I’d forgotten the laughter, the warmth, even the ache. It’s a strange kind of joy. Fall has always been my favorite season. It’s brought me some of my happiest memories but also some of the hardest ones. Maybe that’s why it feels so sacred it holds both joy and reflection in equal measure. The colors fade and the leaves fall, but somehow it all feels like a quiet reminder that change can be beautiful, even when it’s bittersweet.

If you didn’t know October is my birthday month, which makes this time of year even more special. Every year, it reminds me to slow down, to notice the good around me, and to open my heart to new beginnings. There’s something about turning a new age that feels like hitting “reset.” It comes with excitement the thrill of growing and discovering a new version of yourself but also a little worry that you’re not quite where you hoped to be yet.

I find myself thinking about that a lot. Feeling like I should have accomplished more, or be further along by now. But lately I’ve been learning to pause, to take a breath, and remind myself that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. That every small step, every lesson, every moment of doubt has brought me here. And honestly, that’s something worth celebrating. Because there were times when even this felt impossible.

So if you’re reading this, take it as your reminder that it’s okay to feel both excited and uncertain. It’s okay to still be piecing things together while you look forward to what’s next. Give yourself that pat on the back you’ve come so far, even if you don’t always see it. Let this season be your fresh start, your gentle nudge to keep growing, and your permission to find joy in the in between.

love cara xoxo
