I don’t hate my humanity. But I do grapple with it.
For so long, I tried to understand it—mine, yours, everyone’s. I searched for exact definitions, synonyms, antonyms. I wanted to sum up the person, the moment, the feeling. I was always on the quest to find the great perhaps embedded in us all.
But perhaps, that’s fucking insane.
Because what do we really gain in knowing everything?
Where would we grow?
What could we wonder about?
What could we still dream, hope, and pray on?
The need to know everything almost always comes from the need to control. And it’s not feasible—or even good—to know “everything” in its entirety.
And here’s the hot take: that includes yourself.
Sure, know your fundamentals—your passions, your drive, your morals, your values. Those are your compass. But the truth is, there will always be a thousand things we try to “figure out” about who we are. In a generation that’s constantly labeling, diagnosing, shaming, and shrinking itself—it’s impossible not to feel like you’re supposed to be doing more.
“Heal.”
“Fix.”
“Change.”
“Learn.”
“Figure it out!!”
It’s constant. It’s everywhere.
But let me tell you something:
Bri @ 224 doesn’t give a fuck.
You’re perfect right now—in this exact space, in this exact time. You don’t have to name every hurt, every joy, every in-between. You don’t need to have it all—or even yourself—all figured out. That’s the beauty of it allll.
Live. Embrace the season you’re in. Let go. Let you surprise you. Have fun, fuck up, level up, whatever it is—learn along the way.
Pursue your passions. Deepen your dreams.
Explore. Create. Be still. Be fast.
This is your life to live—let it be in your image.
Brianaland has been serendipitous, fun, fully me. I’m fine not knowing. I’m loving my humanity, and I’m loving my grappling with it too.
Maybe the point of being human isn’t to master every lesson, but to stay curious enough to keep asking the questions. To leave room for mystery, for wonder, for the parts of yourself that don’t need to be defined right now. Maybe we aren’t supposed to arrive at an answer, but to keep showing up for the unfolding.
And maybe that’s what connects us most: the not-knowing. The way we’re all grappling, all stumbling, all reaching for more. That’s where humanity becomes community—when we admit we don’t have it all figured out, but we’re still becoming, together.
