Sometimes It’s Us.

Sometimes it’s not spiritual warfare, the evil eye, or the devil. Sometimes it’s us. The consequences of our own actions. The result of our own choices.

A lot of people would rather blame anything before themselves. Self-righteousness is dangerous no matter what form it comes in. We love saying we’re the creators of our own universe when life is going good — when we’re succeeding, achieving, leveling up, exceeding expectations. Suddenly it’s “I manifested this,” “I worked for this,” “I earned this.”

But when life starts collapsing?

When we’re losing friends because of our behavior, family because trust was broken, relationships because insecurity poisoned them, jobs because we stopped trying — suddenly it HAS to be something external. The devil is attacking. Somebody put the evil eye on us. God abandoned us. The universe is against us.

No.

Sometimes it’s just us.

Sometimes the hardest spiritual battle is admitting that we played a role in our own suffering. Accountability feels like an attack to people who are addicted to being the victim. And honestly, blaming outside forces is easier because it protects the ego. If everything is spiritual warfare, then we never have to confront our pride, our laziness, our dishonesty, our jealousy, our self-sabotage.

People want healing without reflection. Redemption without repentance. Change without discomfort.

But God is not going to bless patterns that are destroying you while you keep pretending they came from somewhere else.

Not every closed door is the devil.

Not every consequence is persecution.

Not every ruined relationship is jealousy from others.

Sometimes people got tired.

Sometimes trust was broken too many times.

Sometimes opportunities disappeared because we didn’t nurture them.

And the truth is, accountability is actually freeing. Because if your choices helped create your situation, your choices can also help change it. That means you’re not powerless.

Growth starts when the excuses stop.
